My Mom's Curse

She just calls and urges me not to buy any soy milk from supermarket. My angry feeling is aroused in 0.0023 seconds. She does not spell it out but when we were small, this kind of "advice" always came with a curse."If you do this you would die."Somehow I can feel it, the "die" here is worse than just die, it is some kind of hell in the lowest level close to the center of the earth. The evil power of her cursing did not stop there, it deepened into our soul and our fate. The worst thing that would shame us, torture us, and reduce us, who know what that is, may be it has not been invented yet, would happen to us if we were not listening to her.I have no idea what kind of childhood she had to nourish her the way she'd cursed, she always says she is from a well off family. I think this is a slice of deep Chinese culture, and her poor vocabulary. When she wants to express something worse or more complicated than death, the death from her mouth can always  translate precisely into the viciousness she wants to deliver. And she called this love.
